Exec SG is being updated and tested now!

The Exec SG kernal is under development! Now the exclusive property of A-EON Technologies Ltd., the Exec SG kernal is being extended and tested by a team of well-qualified developers. Led by Exec SG Team Lead Steven Solie, the new kernal adds support for many features AmigaOS doesn't have. Among these are mutli-core support, GART implementation, faster speed, 64-bit support, and extending the RAM limit beyond 2 GB to 4 GB and beyond. Even with all these advantages, the Exec SG kernal retains 100% compatibility compared to the former kernal version. This is true because these are extensions to the existing kernal incorporating the original work of Carl Sassenrath and the AmigaOS team in 1985 as well as the work of others since then. The first ever AmiWest Games Competition is this year.

Games really show off the capabilities of the Amiga platform. That was especially true back in the day when color, stereo sound and fast graphics were absent from most computer platforms that an average person could purchase. Indeed, Electronic Arts pledged their support to the Amiga platform in 1985 by developing and marketing games that took full advantage of those abilities. They even published a demo disk called "Kaleidoscope" that featured screen shots of several of those titles. This year, SACC is sponsoring an Amiga games competition at AmiWest 2019. SACC Vice President Jerry Gray invites gamers: "We will be hosting a game competition at AmiWest 2019 featuring a different game / competition on Friday, Saturday, and Sunday. While the DevCon is free of charge, it is not a drop-in event!

Yes, the 8th annual AmigaOS DevCon at AmiWest is free to attend. There is no cost because our sponsor, Amiga On The Lake, is paying for the space. However, the DevCon is NOT a drop-in event. We want to be clear about the reason for registering for the event. We will be providing facilities for each attendee (experienced and new). This means a specific number of chairs, desks, network connections and power setups will be provided. Each participant will bring their own computer to use. This is a "hands-on" workshop, not a lecture. So we need to know that you will be attending. Please see post #6 for the details on how to register. The 8th Annual AmigaOS DevCon at AmiWest is coming up! The dates are October 23-24, 2019 at the AmiWest 2019 venue. If you want to be an AmigaOS developer, you want to attend! Some programming background is helpful; desire to program is uppermost. The important part now is to get your name on the list. We have a sponsor this year for the DevCon so attendance is FREE of charge! In past years, we had to charge $50.00 per participant to pay for the presentation room. In recent years some attendees have attempted to book AmiWest rooms as part of a larger prepaid reservation or from an external website. This will result in paying more for your AmiWest rooms. The AmiWest rate is about half of the usual rate for these rooms. The hotel gives only one discount per reservation. These discounts do not combine. The 22nd AmiWest show is adding another day! AmiWest 2019, the 22nd AmiWest show, is rolling! The work behind the scenes that started right after AmiWest 2018 with the signing of the venue contract is now ready for public announcement. Increased interest in the classic platform has prompted the addition of a Classic Day! What started as the Friday evening Classic Clinic is now an entire Classic Day devoted to legacy Amigas.
